AOM Best Paper Proceeding and Finalist for OMT Best Paper

I presented our paper, "Balancing Knowledge Expansion and Managerial Demand Through Shared Knowledge," at AOM 2026. The paper examines how organizations can expand their knowledge base while limiting growth in managerial hierarchy by embedding coordination capacity in the architecture of their human capital. The work was recognized in AOM Best Paper Proceedings and selected as a finalist for the OMT Division Best Paper Award.

Sloan Foundation Summer Institute 2026

I presented my work and was part of a panel on AI and reorganization of science. The optimism and concern around how AI changes the knowledge production landscape is real; but so is the reorganization necessary to both address those concerns and make real productivity (quantity and quality) gains.

Presentation at NBER Summer School

The takeaway from my presentation at NBER is that AI is changing the composition of capital required for scientific discovery. Rather than simply reducing costs, projects incorporating AI also reallocate investment away from operational inputs and toward human capital while pursuing more novel combinations of knowledge.

Presenting at Wharton AI & Future of Work Next Week

The project grew out of a pitch I made at SFI last year: how does technology reshape the work and organizational structure of firms? We have evidence of that transformation for software firms: LLM-adopting firms consolidate code evaluation and design into code generation roles, reducing coordination necessary between developers.

NBER Economics of Science Initiative Grant

Delighted to have been awarded the competitive NBER Economics of Science Initiative grant to study AI in a major European science funding agency.
